iFOREX Review Summary
iFOREX is a market-maker CFD broker founded in 1996. It uses its own web platform and mobile app instead of MetaTrader, cTrader, or TradingView. The broker offers forex pairs, indices, commodities, stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies, with international leverage reaching 1:400 under the British Virgin Islands entity and lower limits for European retail clients.
Quick Verdict: Is iFOREX Worth It?
iFOREX is worth considering for beginners and intermediate CFD traders who want one guided platform rather than a professional multi-platform setup. The web platform and app bring trading, charting, economic events, signals, education, and account management into the same interface.
The broker is much less suitable for advanced systematic traders. In our platform check, the lack of MT4, MT5, third-party APIs, and automation mattered more than the spread. A trader whose strategy depends on robots, high-frequency execution, or custom integrations should look elsewhere.

What Is iFOREX?
Company Background
iFOREX was founded in 1996 and developed around a proprietary market-maker model rather than the MetaTrader ecosystem.
Formula Investment House Ltd operates the international iFOREX site, while iFOREX Europe is operated by iCFD Limited. The wider iFOREX holding company became publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange Main Market on February 25, 2026, under ticker IFRX.
Available Countries
iFOREX serves clients across multiple international regions through different group entities. Website languages include Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, English for India, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Thai.
Availability depends on residence and regulation. The international site blocks the United States and a wider group of restricted or sanctioned jurisdictions, while European clients can be served through the CySEC entity. The legal entity shown during registration is more important than the language version of the website because leverage and compensation protection change by entity.
iFOREX Fees and Costs
Trading Fees
iFOREX uses floating spread pricing and does not charge a separate standard dealing commission on its main CFD products. The spread is built into the Buy and Sell quotes shown on the deal ticket.
This makes the fee structure easy to understand for occasional manual traders. The trade-off is that iFOREX does not provide a Raw or ECN account where high-volume clients can exchange a tighter spread for a fixed per-lot commission.
Spreads and Commissions
In our reviewed pricing sample, EUR/USD averaged 1.0 pip and GBP/USD averaged 2.0 pips. Gold averaged 78.93 pips and the S&P 500 CFD averaged 66.48 pips under the instrument-specific quote conventions used for those markets.
Those cross-asset pip figures should not be compared as though one pip has the same cash value on every instrument. During our cost check, the live cash spread on the deal ticket was the more useful measure for gold and index CFDs.
Deposit and Withdrawal Fees
iFOREX normally charges $0 internally for deposits and standard card or e-wallet withdrawals. The main exception is an international bank-wire withdrawal, which costs $20. India-only local transfers are listed at $5.
Banks, card issuers, and payment providers can add their own fees. Traders should also check the conversion rate when funding in a currency that does not match the trading account.
Inactivity and Account Fees
An account with no trading activity for 12 consecutive months can be charged $15 per quarter. If the account equity is below $15, iFOREX can charge the remaining equity instead.
The fee is easy to avoid by closing an unused account or withdrawing a small dormant balance before the one-year inactivity period is reached.
Bonus and Promotions
iFOREX currently runs a first-deposit trading-bonus program. The international offer can provide up to 100% in total trading credit, capped at $500. The first 50% is capped at $250, with an additional 50% up to $250 available after documents are approved and the first mobile-app trade is completed.
The bonus is margin credit and cannot be withdrawn as cash. A withdrawal can remove some or all remaining bonus credit, so traders should not treat the promotional amount as permanent account equity.
iFOREX also operates cashback, referral, affiliate, and partnership programs. Trading contests are not a regular part of the reviewed offer.
Currency Conversion Fees
Base account currencies include USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, JPY, PLN, SEK, and INR. Currency conversion can apply when the traded instrument, deposit, or withdrawal uses another currency.
Card companies can also apply their own foreign-exchange conversion. Matching the account currency to the main funding currency is the simplest way to reduce repeated conversion.
Overnight and Swap Fees
Standard leveraged positions are subject to overnight financing. Forex financing is based on the underlying currency interest rates plus a broker markup that currently starts from 0.75% and can differ between Buy and Sell positions.
Five-day CFD markets can receive a larger financing adjustment around the final trading day of the week to cover weekend settlement. The exact amount is shown on the platform before a trade is opened.
iFOREX Account Types
Real Account
The Real account is the main retail CFD setup. The initial deposit requirement is $100, the minimum forex trade size starts from 0.01 lot, and the account uses the iFOREX web platform and mobile app.
iFOREX does not split normal retail clients between Standard, Raw, ECN, and Zero accounts. During our account comparison, this simplicity helped beginners but reduced pricing choice for experienced traders.
Islamic Account
A swap-free Islamic account is available across the broker's tradable CFD markets. It removes normal overnight swap and rollover interest for eligible clients.
The current international trading conditions limit swap-free status to a maximum of 30 days. Islamic accounts are also excluded from bonuses, promotions, and cashback. That makes the account useful for short-term Sharia-compliant trading, but it is not a permanent zero-financing solution.
Professional Account
Eligible clients under the European framework can apply for professional classification. Professional status can allow higher leverage than the normal CySEC retail limit, but qualification requirements apply.
The important trade-off is protection. A professional client can lose some safeguards that apply to normal retail accounts, so the higher leverage should not be viewed as a free account upgrade.
Demo Account
The free demo account provides $5,000 in virtual funds and full platform access for 30 days. It can be renewed through support if more practice time is needed.
No ID verification is required to begin demo trading. During our test, it was useful for learning the proprietary deal ticket because the order workflow differs from MetaTrader.
How to Open an Account with iFOREX
Signup Process
Registration starts through the website or mobile app. The client enters personal and contact details, creates a login, selects the available regional setup, and completes the required account questionnaire.
Verification Requirements
Know Your Customer checks require identity verification and can include proof of address, payment ownership, and additional compliance information. Withdrawals are not completed normally until the account passes the required verification.
During our account review, completing KYC before relying on bonus credit or planning a withdrawal was the most practical approach. The current first-deposit promotion also links part of the additional bonus to completed document approval.
Minimum Deposit
The standard minimum initial deposit is $100. The exact payment-screen minimum can still vary by country and payment method.
How Long Account Approval Takes
iFOREX does not publish one guaranteed approval time for all clients. Registration is quick, while final verification depends on document quality and whether the compliance team requests additional information.
Markets and Assets Available
Forex Pairs
iFOREX provides more than 90 forex pairs, including major, minor, and exotic combinations. The minimum trade size starts from 0.01 lot.
International leverage can reach 1:400 under Formula Investment House Ltd. European retail clients are capped at lower levels, including 1:30 on major currency pairs.
Stock CFDs
Hundreds of share CFDs are available across major international markets. Traders can open long or short positions without purchasing the underlying shares.
iFOREX does not provide a dedicated real-stock custody account in the reviewed brokerage setup. Share positions are CFDs, so clients do not receive normal ownership or voting rights.
Indices
Index CFDs cover major global benchmarks. Each index has its own margin requirement, spread, minimum deal size, and maximum exposure.
Trading hours also matter because indices that close overnight can reopen with gaps, increasing slippage risk around pending orders and protective exits.
Commodities
Commodity CFDs include precious metals, energy products, and agricultural markets. Gold and oil are among the main markets available on the platform.
Instrument margin can differ significantly from forex, so the 1:400 international forex maximum should not be applied automatically to commodity positions.
ETFs
ETF CFDs provide leveraged exposure to baskets of securities without buying the underlying fund units. Clients receive price exposure rather than direct fund ownership.
Cryptocurrencies
iFOREX offers crypto CFDs across multiple pairs and does not charge a separate trading commission on the standard pricing model.
These are derivatives rather than directly owned coins. Clients do not receive private keys, staking income, or blockchain custody.
Leverage and Trading Limits
Maximum leverage is 1:400 for eligible international trading under the BVI entity and 1:30 for major-forex retail trading under CySEC. Actual margin depends on the instrument and client classification.
Older iFOREX account specifications use a 100% margin-call and 50% stop-out shorthand. The current international trading-conditions page now defines automatic closeout differently: Maintenance Margin is set at 20% of Used Margin, and positions are automatically closed when Total Equity reaches that level. Traders should use the live platform margin figure rather than assume the older shorthand still describes the current closeout engine.
iFOREX also applies maximum exposure limits by instrument and a total net-exposure limit of up to $15 million per client.
Trading Platforms and Tools
iFOREX WebTrader
WebTrader is the desktop browser platform and requires no software installation. It supports Market orders, future Limit orders, Stop Loss, Take Profit, live charts, indicators, account monitoring, economic data, and market research.
WebTrader is easier to learn than MetaTrader because trading and research sit inside one interface. The limitation is customization: there is no MQL environment, plug-in marketplace, or external algorithmic connection.
iFOREX Mobile App
The Android and iOS app supports live pricing, interactive charts, indicators, drawing tools, multiple timeframes, Market orders, future Limit orders, Stop Loss, Take Profit, signals, economic events, and account management.
The app also includes Pulse, Today's Opportunity, Trading Insights, and other discovery tools. Mobile and web activity sync across the same iFOREX account.
Order Types and Execution
Market orders are sent for execution using the current server price. Future Limit orders are triggered when the specified level is reached and can experience positive or negative slippage if that exact price is unavailable.
Stop Loss and Take Profit can be attached to positions. During volatile conditions or overnight gaps, the final execution price can differ from the requested level.
Strategy Restrictions
iFOREX explicitly prohibits scalping, automated Expert Advisor trading, algorithmic trading, and API trading. Its trading conditions describe scalping as opening many short-term positions that are usually closed within seconds or minutes.
Hedging is allowed, and news trading is permitted, but the broker is built for human-directed trading. This restriction is the decisive issue for advanced users: a strategy that depends on automation cannot be adapted to iFOREX without changing the strategy itself.
Research and Charting Tools
Research resources include Trading Insights, an economic calendar, live rates, Today's Opportunity, daily market analysis, Trading Signals, and Pulse. The platform also includes technical indicators and drawing tools.
During our research check, the strongest feature was integration. Market analysis appears next to the account and deal ticket instead of forcing traders to switch between several external services.
Educational Resources
Education includes one-on-one training, video tutorials, PDF guides, educational articles, demo trading, and platform guidance.
This is one of the broker's better features for beginners. The material is more useful to manual traders than to advanced quantitative users because iFOREX does not provide an automated strategy-development environment.
iFOREX Deposits and Withdrawals
Payment Methods
Main payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, Diners, Neteller, Skrill, local bank transfer, and bank wire. The exact methods shown in the account depend on the country.
Withdrawals normally return through the same payment method used for the deposit. Payment ownership must match the verified trading account.
Deposit Times
Card and e-wallet deposits are normally instant or credited within a short period after payment confirmation. Bank wire transfers generally take three to five business days.
Withdrawal Times
E-wallet withdrawals generally take one to two business days. Bank wires take around three to five business days, while card withdrawals can take three to ten business days.
These ranges include payment-provider settlement rather than only iFOREX's internal approval. A receiving bank or card issuer can extend the final arrival time.
Withdrawal Limits
iFOREX does not publish one universal withdrawal minimum or maximum for every payment method. Limits depend on the payment channel and region.
Funds being used as margin for open positions are not fully withdrawable. The platform displays the amount currently available for withdrawal after margin requirements are considered.

iFOREX Customer Support Review
Support Channels
Support is available through live chat, email, and phone. The main customer-service email is [email protected], and the general customer-service phone number is +30 210 374 2599.
Response Times
During our support timing check, live chat responded in about one minute, phone support in around three minutes, and email within 24 hours.
The broker describes support availability as 24/5, while individual language desks can have narrower local hours. Traders needing direct phone help outside the main regional window should use chat or email.
Support Quality
The support model is more hands-on than at many self-directed brokers. One-on-one training and account-manager contact can help beginners understand the platform and basic trading functions.
The same approach requires discipline. Account support should be used for platform and service questions, while trading decisions and position sizing should remain independent.
Languages Available
Support languages include English, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish, with additional regional contact options.
iFOREX User Reviews and Complaints
Positive User Reviews
Positive Trustpilot feedback commonly mentions customer service, platform usability, and routine deposits or withdrawals.
Very good app. Good support. capital safe. immediate withdrawal.
Negative User Reviews
Lower-rated feedback raises more serious allegations around account access, deposits, margin events, and withdrawals. These are individual user claims and should not be treated as independently verified facts.
This company is a scam!
Common iFOREX Complaints
- Withdrawal requests taking longer when extra checks are required.
- Clients questioning price differences or slippage during volatile conditions.
- Disputes involving deposit access while an account is close to margin limits.
- Users objecting to the role of account-manager guidance in their trading decisions.
Trustpilot and App Store Ratings
Verification Issues
Verification problems normally involve identity documents, proof of address, or payment ownership. iFOREX can delay a withdrawal until the required account checks are complete.
The practical way to reduce friction is to complete KYC before building a large balance and to fund only from accounts in the same legal name.
Platform Problems
The main technical issue is execution during volatile markets. iFOREX states that a Market order can execute at a server price different from the client display when market movement exceeds its tolerance, while future Limit orders can fill at the first available price.
Trustpilot also contains individual allegations involving account access and margin events. Those claims cannot establish platform manipulation by themselves, but they highlight why traders should understand the automatic closeout rule and keep enough free margin before major news or market gaps.
Best iFOREX Alternative
Best Alternative for Beginners
FOREX.com is the stronger beginner alternative for traders who want to build transferable MetaTrader skills alongside a more structured trading education.
iFOREX is easier for someone who prefers one proprietary interface and direct human support. FOREX.com is better suited to beginners who also want access to MT4 or MT5 and educational resources that can help them develop skills applicable across different trading platforms.
Best Alternative for Low Fees
Tickmill is the stronger low-fee alternative for traders who want a choice between commission-free pricing and tighter raw spreads.
iFOREX avoids a separate dealing commission but does not offer a Raw or ECN-style account. Tickmill gives fee-sensitive traders more flexibility through its Classic account with spread-based pricing and its Raw account with spreads starting from 0.0 pips plus a commission.
Best Alternative for Advanced Traders
FP Markets is the stronger advanced alternative for traders who need access to MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView, advanced charting tools, or automated trading strategies.
iFOREX is deliberately centered on a simpler proprietary trading environment. FP Markets is the clearer choice when platform flexibility, technical analysis tools, and support for more advanced trading workflows are priorities.
Best Alternative for Forex or CFD Trading
Eightcap is the stronger forex and CFD alternative for traders who prioritize raw-spread pricing, a wider choice of trading platforms, and tools designed for active trading.
iFOREX is more suitable for manual traders who prefer an integrated proprietary platform and direct support. Eightcap is better suited to traders who want Raw and Standard account options together with platforms such as MT5 and TradingView.
How iFOREX Compares for Different Traders
iFOREX for Beginners
Beginners are the clearest fit for iFOREX. The $100 starting deposit, $5,000 demo, guided training, simple proprietary platform, and built-in market tools reduce the number of separate systems a new trader needs to learn.
High leverage still requires restraint. A beginner should use small position sizes rather than treating 1:400 as a target.
iFOREX for Day Trading
iFOREX can work for normal manual intraday trading, particularly around forex, indices, and commodities. Hedging and news trading are allowed.
It is a weak fit for rapid scalping because the broker explicitly prohibits scalping and automated trading. Traders whose edge depends on repeated very-short-duration entries should choose another broker.
iFOREX for Forex Trading
Forex traders get more than 90 currency pairs, a 0.01 lot minimum, international leverage up to 1:400, market signals, and a commission-free spread model.
The main limitation is platform freedom. Manual traders fit the system better than traders who depend on MetaTrader robots or API execution.
iFOREX for Long-Term Investors
iFOREX is not designed for conventional long-term investing. Shares and ETFs are CFDs rather than directly owned securities, and leveraged holdings can accumulate overnight financing.
Investors seeking custody, voting rights, or multi-year unleveraged positions should use a securities broker.
iFOREX for Crypto Trading
Crypto CFDs let clients trade rising or falling prices without opening an exchange wallet. They fit active speculation better than long-term ownership because clients do not hold the underlying coins and financing can apply.
Is iFOREX Safe and Legit?
Licensing and Regulation
Formula Investment House Ltd is licensed and supervised by the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission under license SIBA/L/13/1060. iFOREX Europe is operated by iCFD Limited, which is regulated by CySEC under license 143/11.
These two entities should not be treated as identical. The BVI structure allows higher leverage, while CySEC retail clients receive stricter European conduct rules and lower leverage limits.
Security Features
iFOREX uses KYC, payment verification, segregated accounts, SSL encryption, firewalls, PCI-certified payment controls, and optional two-factor authentication.
The wider iFOREX holding company has also been publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange since February 25, 2026. That adds public reporting at group level, although stock-market listing does not replace broker regulation.
Investor Protection
Eligible iCFD Limited retail clients can be covered by the Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund. The legal maximum is the lower of €20,000 or 90% of the covered claim.
That protection is limited to the CySEC entity. BVI clients do not receive the same statutory compensation scheme.
Negative Balance Protection
Negative balance protection is provided. iFOREX states that trading losses are limited to the funds invested in the account, including any gains already credited.
Negative balance protection does not prevent slippage or automatic closeout. It prevents an eligible trading loss from leaving the client with a debit balance owed to the broker.
Segregated Client Funds
Client funds are held in segregated bank accounts, separated from normal company capital. iFOREX also states that client money is stored with leading banks.
Segregation is an important operational safeguard, but it is not the same as investor compensation. Statutory compensation still depends on the legal entity serving the client.
Final Verdict
iFOREX is suitable for beginners and intermediate manual CFD traders who want a proprietary platform, one-on-one education, built-in research, multilingual support, and a straightforward commission-free pricing model.
Its biggest weakness is strategy restriction. No MetaTrader, no copy trading, no API, no VPS, and an explicit ban on scalping and automated trading make iFOREX unsuitable for many advanced or systematic traders.
Overall, iFOREX is a credible manual-trading broker with a beginner-friendly platform and a long operating history. The right fit depends less on the maximum leverage than on whether the trader actually wants the proprietary, human-guided trading model that iFOREX is built around.
